Paint Like a Pro
Start your paint job by thoroughly
mixing the paint with a wooden paddle. If the paint has been sitting
for some time you’ll need to stir any paste that has settled
in the bottom of the can back into the paint. Be sure to choose the
right paintbrush for the job and the type of paint you are using by
checking our handy Get Painting
Brush Guide - and for added comfort, try our Flowline brush with
its unique, offset handle!

Walls
Choose a paint tray with a deep well for the
paint and ridges that help evenly distribute the paint onto the roller
- Dynamic's sturdy metal or plastic paint trays are perfect for the
job. You can minimize cleanup with Dynamic’s disposable tray
liners, made from recycled plastic. When the painting job is finished
you can simply remove the liner and toss!
When painting with a roller, load it with
paint and roll over the ridges in the paint tray to distribute the
paint evenly. This will help you to get a smoother finish on the
wall. Then, begin by making criss-cross strokes to apply the paint
to the wall. Follow with even, up and down strokes to spread the
paint evenly over the wall.

Trim
Begin by dipping your paintbrush into the can,
loading the brush with paint about half way. Never dip the brush further
into the paint! Touch the brush lightly to the surface and use back
and forth motions and zigzag strokes to spread the paint evenly. Use
long leveling brush strokes to finish the area. Avoid creating ridges
by ensuring that you stroke into the wet paint as opposed to away
from it. By blending the paint you are applying into the wet paint
you applied previously, you'll create a smoother finish.
Painting around trim or carpet can be challenging,
but you can protect as you paint with a Dynamic Trim Guard or Carpet
Shield. These make painting around trim and carpet a snap because
they keep your paint-loaded brush or roller away from adjacent surfaces.
